E, sinceramente, eu acho a resposta tão complicada, afinal somos educados para o inverso: o racismo é imposto e naturalizado, e, mesmo não querendo (existem casos que ele é sim intencional), muitosacabam reproduzindo o discurso opressivo para com negros.
Desconstruir esse discurso, até em expressões simples e que aparentemente não parecem ser ofensivas, mas no fundo são, é necessário e urgente. Pensando em quebrar esse ciclo, te mostro 13 exemplos de racismo cotidiano presente em expressões e palavras que ouvimos com freqüência, mas que devem ser eliminadas do vocabulário já.
1- “Amanhã é dia de branco”
Qualquer pesquisa rápida no Google mostrará mais de uma origem para essa expressão, e a maioria negando que ela tem algum cunho racista. Porém, vivemos em um país onde a escravidão do povo negro durou mais de 300 anos, e os escravos, mesmo sendo forçados a trabalhar, geralmente eram vistos como “vagabundos”.
As conseqüências disso duram até hoje, o negro é sempre visto como a pessoa que faz “corpo mole”, aquele “malandro” que não faz nada. Inclusive, entre as opiniões que mais afloram quando o assunto é cotas sociais para negros, a de que não existe esforço da nossa parte é a mais frequente. Tanto que podemos fazer um paralelo entre essa e a expressão seguinte.
2- “Serviço de preto”
Comum no nosso dia-a-dia, essa expressão é usada para desqualificar determinado esforço e/ou trabalho, ou seja, fazer “serviço de preto” é igual a ser desleixado. O negro sempre é associado a algo ruim, o “bom” trabalho seria o do branco. Não dá para ser ingênuo e achar que não existe o teor racista, ainda mais quando associamos a outras dessas expressões que colocam o negro como o oposto de positivo, como:
3- “A coisa tá preta”
A expressão “a coisa tá preta” fala por si só: se a coisa está preta, é porque ela não está agradável, ou seja, uma situação desconfortável é o mesmo que uma situação negra? Isso é racismo.
4- “Mercado negro”
O mercado negro é aquele que promove ações ilegais, e mais uma vez é a palavra negro sendo usada com conotação desfavorável. O negro, na expressão, significa ilícito.
5- “Denegrir”
Já a palavra “denegrir” é recorrente quando acreditamos que estamos sendo difamados, é uma palavra vista como pejorativa, porém seu real significado é “tornar negro”. Se tornar algo negro é maldoso, temos mais um caso de racismo.
6- “Inveja branca”
Finalizando a leva de palavras e expressões que associam negro e preto à comportamentos negativos, o exemplo 6, que mostra a “inveja branca” como sendo a inveja boa, “positiva”.
7- “Da cor do pecado”
Outra expressão que faz a mesma associação de que negro = negativo, só que de forma mais subliminar, não recorrendo a termos como negro ou preto. Geralmente essa expressão é usada como elogio, porém vivemos em uma sociedade pautada na religião, onde pecar não é nada positivo, ser pecador é errado, e ter a sua pele associada ao pecado significa que ela é ruim. Não é uma expressão que remete a um adjetivo positivo, é simplesmente uma ofensa racista mascarada de exaltação à estética e, quase sempre, direcionada a mulheres negras.
8- “Morena”, “mulata” ( por vim seguidos de tipo exportação).
Usado para mulheres e homens, mas mais comum serem usadas para descrever as mulheres, principalmente quando seguidas pelo termo “tipo exportação”. Aqui o objetivo é amenizar o que somos, “clareando” o negro. Não existe justificativa para negar que alguém é negro, possivelmente você pode estar incomodado em dizer “negro”, e se está é porque acredita que chamar alguém de negro é ofensivo, sendo assim embranquece a pessoa – transformando-a em “morena” ou “mulata”, e isso é racismo.
9- Negra “de beleza exótica” ou com “traços finos”
O 8 e 9 são próximos, quando se imagina que ser uma mulher negra bonita é ser “tipo exportação”, ter “traços finos” e assim poder ser a dona de uma “beleza exótica”. Ser negro e poder ser considerado bonito está relacionado a não ter traços negros, mas sim aqueles próximos ao que a branquitude pauta como belo, que é o padrão de beleza europeu. Sim, isso é racismo, e dos mais comuns que a gente vê por ai, estão nos hipersexualizando e exotificando quando usam essas expressões.
Facilmente explicável se lembrarmos de que quando se tratava do comportamento para com as mulheres negras escravizadas, assédios e estupros eram recorrentes. A frase deixa explícita que com as negras pode tudo, e com as demais não se pode fazer o mesmo, e no tudo está incluso desfazer, assediar, mal tratar, etc, etc.
11- “Cabelo ruim”, “Cabelo de Bombril”, “Cabelo duro” e, a mais desnecessária, “Quando não está preso está armado”
A questão da negação da nossa estética é sempre comum quando vão se referir aos nosso cabelo Afro. São falas racistas usadas, principalmente na fase da infância, pelos colegas, porém que se perpetuam em universidades, ambientes de trabalho e até em programas de televisão, com a presença negra aumentando na mídia. Falar mal das características dos cabelos dos negros também é racismo.
12- “Nasceu com um pé na cozinha”
Expressão que faz associação com as origens, “ter o pé na cozinha” é literalmente ter origens negras. A mulher negra é sempre associada aos serviços domésticos, já que as escravas podiam ficar dentro das casas grandes na parte da cozinha, onde, inclusive, dormiam no chão (sua presença dentro da casa grande facilitava o assédio e estupro por parte dos senhores). Pós-abolição, continuamos sendo estereotipadas como as mulheres da cozinha, já que somos maioria nos serviços domésticos, visto todas as políticas que tentaram e tentam barrar a ascensão negra.
13- “Barriga suja”
Outro termo que faz relação à origem é usado quando a mulher tem um filho negro. Se ela teve um filho negro, algo impuro – como uma “barriga suja” – explica esse fato. É uma das que mais me causa desconforto.
É claro que existem inúmeras outras expressões que apontam claramente o racismo no cotidiano, e, infelizmente, inúmeras pessoas, mesmo sabendo dos fatos e tendo acesso às explicações, vão dizer que tudo é pura banalidade e, provavelmente, continuar usando essas palavras e expressões.
Quando apontamos racismo, a tendência é ouvirmos algo como “não sou racista, tenho amigos e/ou parentes negros”, ou ainda “eu conheço um negro e ele não liga”. O mais irônico é que, quando um negro reproduz conceitos racistas, que vão desde achar que não existe racismo a não se incomodar de ser chamado de moreno, ou achar desnecessárias todas essas explicações aqui dadas, ele logo é taxado como sendo “um negro de alma branca”. Traduzindo: usam uma fala racista para “louvar” seu comportamento não questionador.
É necessário empatia e consciência para que essas palavras e expressões sejam abandonas de vez. O objetivo desse texto é simples: ENEGRECER ideias.
