Desabafo: Como os conflitos podem ajudar a juventude?
Leticia: Essa é uma fase da vida que a gente vive em conflito, não é? O primeiro passo é reconhecer esse momento da vida e pensar que o conflito não é algo necessariamente ruim. O conflito, em muitos momentos, pode impulsionar, ajudar na tomada de decisão. A grande questão é como a gente lida com esses conflitos, sejam os individuais, os interpessoais e os sociais. É preciso reconhecer que o conflito não é algo necessariamente ruim, mas que nos ajuda a viver a diferença, a diversidade.
Desabafo: Pode nos falar mais sobre diferença e desigualdade?
Leticia: Diferença não é sinônimo de desigualdade. Desigualdade é um conceito que tem muito a ver com a questão econômica. Quando a gente fala em diferença, estamos nos referindo a um conjunto de outras coisas ligadas às formas de pertencimento: se sou homem, se sou mulher, se sou do Sul ou do Sudoeste, ou do Nordeste, Centro Oeste ou do Norte. Se sou do campo ou da cidade, da periferia ou do centro. Ser diferente porque eu tenho uma cor diferente da sua, porque eu nasci um lugar diferente do seu, não significa que eu sou desigual ou que sou menos ou mais que você.
Desabafo Social: Como se dá a relação de prevenção à violência nas periferias urbanas, que, em geral, são ambientes construídos sem planejamento?
Leticia: A gente precisa entender melhor o que é periferia. Na verdade, estamos falando de várias periferias hoje em dia. Você tem lugares que historicamente eram entendidos como periferia e começam a criar espaços interessantes próprios e com sua identidade própria. É importante valorizar essa periferia e entender que ali também é um lugar diverso que tem potencialidade e precisa ser reconhecido pela gestão pública. Espaço que tem na juventude um potencial enorme de criar laços naquela comunidade.
