Acostumado com as revistas que sofre diariamente por ser negro, diz ele à autora deste blog, a abordagem daquele dia foi diferente.
Frederico carregava nos braços o livro “Dexter – A Mão Esquerda de Deus”, sobre um assassino em série, que havia ganhado como presente de uma brincadeira de amigo secreto. A capa traz a imagem de uma mão usando luva cirúrgica segurando um bisturi escorrendo sangue.
“Num tom de ironia os policiais queriam saber por que eu estava com aquele tipo de livro, se por acaso eu já tinha feito algo de errado”, afirma. “Eu não tenho passagem pela polícia, apresentei todos os meus documentos, respondi a uma série de perguntas sobre, por exemplo, de onde eu estava saindo e para onde eu ia, qual era meu trabalho, onde morava, mas eles insistiam na questão do livro para justificar uma abordagem que durou mais de 15 minutos”.
Os livros do autor Jeff Lindsay, pseudônimo do dramaturgo norte-americano Jeffry P. Freundlich, inspiraram a aclamada série televisiva Dexter, sobre um homem que trabalha para a Divisão de Homicídios do Departamento de Polícia de Miami como analista forense de manchas de sangue. Nos períodos de folga, Dexter é um serial killer que mata assassinos, estupradores e outros que ficaram impunes.
“O policial ainda debochou de mim dizendo que eu não tinha ‘estilo’ de quem lê livros. Quer dizer que se eu sou negro e ando como qualquer outra pessoa de camisa, bermuda e tênis, não posso ter o hábito de ler?”, diz. “Não sofri nenhuma violência física, mas me chateou demais o tom de voz, o deboche, aquele preconceito nas palavras”.
Questionado sobre quantas vezes já foi revistado pela polícia, o jovem diz que “é mais fácil responder quantas vezes não foi parado”. “Moro na Vila Madalena e lá a noite eu sou abordado direto, mas nunca sofri agressão”, afirma. “Eu me sinto um alvo, se eu vejo uma viatura da polícia eu já sei que eu vou ser parado e passar novamente por todo um constrangimento, uma humilhação. Em cartazes, propagandas, o estado fala para se confiar na polícia, mas você se sente como vítima”. O jovem afirma que não deu queixa sobre o caso pelo fato de não ter havido violência física e por temer represálias de PMs, por isso o sobrenome do jornalista não foi divulgado.
A Secretaria de Segurança Pública diz que sem o registro da ocorrência, que poderia ter sido registrada como injúria, não tem como apurar o caso.
