Em pleno século XXI, a sociedade brasileira ainda tem uma ideologia arcaica no que se refere à segurança pública do nosso Estado Democrático. O Desejo de penas mais severas e do encarceramento cada vez mais cedo, revelam que para parte da nação, a solução sempre será a repressão pela repressão.
Sabendo que 92,7% dos brasileiros são a favor da redução da maioridade penal, segundo a pesquisa da CNT (Confederação Nacional dos Transportes) em conjunto com o instituto MDA (http://zip.net/bpqxW1), o Desabafo Social promoveu na ONG Liga Solidária, em Maceió, um bate papo sobre esta polêmica discussão que visa responsabilizar adolescentes a partir de seus 16 anos, na condição de adultos.
A ação ocorreu no dia 20/12, reunindo adolescentes e jovens com inúmeras visões sobre o assunto em questão. Muitos foram favoráveis, afirmando que as leis brasileiras são brandas e precisam ser reformuladas o quanto antes. Outros foram permanentemente contra, argumentando que a redução da idade penal, se for aprovada, será um retrocesso no que diz respeito à garantia de direitos. O fato é que, é essencial que o Estado garanta os direitos fundamentais de sua juventude, antes de punir os indivíduos marginalizados, que são uma consequência da ausência de políticas sociais, sobretudo, nas áreas periféricas, que geralmente são… Esquecidas por nossos governantes.
Este debate nos últimos anos, tem sido muito pautado em diversos segmentos da sociedade, e vem gerando muitas divergências de opiniões.
